Frequently Asked Questions

General Frequently Asked Questions

What happens on a discovery call?

I want to hear your story first. What is bringing you in, what have you already tried, and what would healing actually look like in your life. From there I will reflect back what I am hearing, walk you through my approach, and let you know which program may make the most sense for where you are starting. There is no pressure. It is a conversation.

Do you work virtually?
Yes. I work with clients throughout Colorado and via telehealth in the states where I am allowed to practice.

This allows clients outside the Denver area to receive the same level of support without needing to travel.

What is a CNS® and how is it different from other nutrition credentials?
CNS® stands for Certified Nutrition Specialist. It is a nationally recognized credential requiring a graduate degree in nutrition, supervised clinical hours, and board examination. My training includes a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, allowing me to interpret advanced lab testing and support complex conditions such as autoimmune and thyroid disorders.
Do you work with minors or pregnant and breastfeeding women?
Yes to both. I work with minors and I also support pregnant and breastfeeding women. Nutritional needs shift significantly during these stages, and personalized support can make a meaningful difference.
Are you a medical doctor?
No. I am a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Nutrition Specialist.

I do not prescribe medication or replace your physician. I work alongside your healthcare team to support nutritional, immune, and metabolic health.

Do you diagnose medical conditions?
I do not issue medical diagnosis codes.

If lab results suggest a condition such as Hashimoto’s or hypothyroidism, I will recommend follow-up with your physician for formal diagnosis. My role is to identify nutritional imbalances and root contributors that may be influencing your symptoms.

Do you accept insurance?
No. Most clients find that this level of specialized, one-on-one functional care isn’t available through insurance-based models and that the investment pays off in a couple of months.
Are lab costs included in your program?
Lab testing is separate from program fees. We always begin by reviewing any recent, relevant labs you already have before recommending anything new. If additional testing is needed, costs vary based on your individual case and what we are looking to uncover. Many clients find they need less testing than expected.
What conditions do you commonly support?

I frequently work with clients experiencing:

  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Gut disorders such as IBS and SIBO
  • Hormone imbalances

Persistent symptoms despite “normal” labs

How long does it take to see results?

Many clients notice improvements in energy, digestion, and clarity within the first month.

More complex conditions such as autoimmune or thyroid dysfunction often require 6 to 12 months of consistent support.

Healing is individualized and layered.

What is the RESTORE Protocol™?

The RESTORE Protocol is my structured framework for root-cause healing. It includes:

  • A comprehensive health history review
  • Functional lab analysis when appropriate
  • A personalized nutrition and supplement plan
  • Eight sessions over six to eight months
  • Ongoing portal support between visits

It is designed for sustainable, long-term change.

What happens after the program ends?

Clients may:

  • Transition into a maintenance membership (in development)
  • Purchase follow-up session packages
  • Continue independently with the tools they’ve gained

The goal is long-term empowerment, not indefinite dependency.

Who is a good fit for this work?

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Have a chronic or autoimmune condition
  • Feel unwell despite “normal” labs
  • Are ready to explore root causes
  • Understand that healing takes time

Are willing to make sustainable lifestyle changes

Do you work with other providers?

Yes. I frequently collaborate with primary care physicians, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, and mental health professionals.

Your care works best when it is integrated.

How does your personal health journey influence your work?

My own experience with thyroid dysfunction, panic attacks, and severe digestive disruption after profound grief reshaped how I practice.

It deepened my understanding that lab markers alone do not tell the whole story. Emotional stress, trauma, and loss can significantly impact hormone balance, immune function, and gut health.

That experience allows me to guide clients with both clinical precision and lived empathy.

How is your approach different from traditional nutrition counseling?
Traditional nutrition counseling often focuses on calories, macros, or disease management guidelines.

My approach integrates advanced lab interpretation, immune modulation, hormone physiology, gut health, nervous system regulation, and grief-informed care.

Rather than managing symptoms in isolation, I look at how systems interact.

Why do you emphasize the nervous system in autoimmune and thyroid care?
The nervous system and immune system are deeply interconnected.

Chronic stress can alter thyroid hormone conversion, increase inflammatory signaling, and impair digestion.

Supporting stress resilience and nervous system regulation is often foundational in stabilizing symptoms long term.

How does your background in functional neurology influence your work?
My clinical experience in a functional neurology setting deepened my understanding of brain-immune-gut interactions.

This perspective informs how I evaluate brain fog, mood symptoms, autonomic dysfunction, and stress physiology within autoimmune and thyroid patterns.

Why is advanced lab interpretation important in your practice?
Many conventional lab ranges are designed to detect disease, not optimal function.

My training in functional blood chemistry and endocrinology allows me to identify patterns within “normal” ranges that may explain persistent symptoms.

We use lab data as one piece of the puzzle, alongside clinical history and symptom patterns.

Do you believe emotional stress can trigger physical illness?
Stress does not “cause” disease in isolation, but it can influence immune regulation, hormone balance, gut permeability, and inflammatory signaling.

For some clients, illness onset or flare patterns correlate closely with periods of grief or prolonged stress.

Recognizing that connection can be empowering, not blaming.

Is your approach evidence-based?
Yes. My work is grounded in clinical research, advanced training in functional medicine and nutrition science, and over a decade of clinical experience.

Where emerging research exists, I apply it cautiously and in collaboration with your broader medical team.

What kind of results have your clients experienced?
Some of the most meaningful outcomes I have witnessed include reversal of pre-diabetes, significant reductions in inflammatory markers like C-reactive protein and homocysteine, improved thyroid panels, and better stool test results showing real gut healing. These are not just numbers. Clients describe it as a complete shift in how they feel and how they live.
What does success look like at three months versus six months?
By three months, most clients are noticing real shifts: better energy, improved digestion, reduced inflammation, and often some weight loss. There is also a mindset shift that begins to take hold. By six months, the goal is that you understand your body’s unique weak points and have a sustainable, personalized plan for supporting them long term. You leave with a path, not just a protocol.
